My Hardest Goodbyes

The Hardest Goodbyes: The Independent Filmmaker's Journey

For every blockbuster that dominates the box office, a thousand independent films are being born—crafted with passion, grit, and often, the filmmaker's own life savings. These are the films that live outside the studio system, driven by a singular artistic vision rather than a marketing committee. They are personal, raw, and speak to the core of what it means to be human. But for the independent creator, the filmmaking journey doesn't end when the credits roll. The final, and perhaps most difficult, act is getting the film seen.

For me, capturing has always been like meditation. Until you do not go deeper within, you will not find the true soul of an art form. Being a self-taught photographer, I did not fear to experiment or work in discomforting environments.

And most importantly, I did not explore this far through the lens for an approval of the eyes that fear to dig through the unexplored corners of the soul in the commercial world. In today’s time, people are constantly demolishing the very purpose of their souls and remain ignorant of feelings. I wish to capture that intensity and bring it out in my portraits as if slated a poetry on the canvas in a particular theme.”
